About the travel fellowship program

The travel fellowship program is a pilot program supported by the Silicon Valley Archives to encourage awareness of the rich collections gathered by Stanford University Libraries over the past forty years in the history of Silicon Valley and to facilitate their use. This pilot program will accept applications twice a year and will initially run for academic years 2025-2026 and 2026-2027. 

Deadline

The application deadlines are as follows: 

  • October 1, 2025
  • March 1, 2026
  • September 1, 2026
  • March 1, 2027 

Grant amount

We anticipate providing up to $2,000 per grant, which we expect will cover some though not all expenses incurred. Early career scholarsare particularly encouraged to apply. 

Application procedures

The required application materials are as follows: 

  • A précis, no more than one page, of the proposed research
  • An annotated list of relevant collections
  • One recommendation letter
